This vintage Smiths Deluxe watch is real gem. Smiths watches that were 'Made in England' area mark of quality and one even made it up Mount Everest with Edmund Hilary. The Deluxe model is a collectors item and the mechanism oozes quality and British engineering. Good examples of such watches are rightly sort after.
Smiths watches as with most vintage watches are smaller than todays watches and look equally at home on either men or women. The dimensions are given below

What exactly has been done to this particular watch:
1. Setting bridge with detent on the keyless side (dial side) has been replaced as original was broken.
2. Jewels re-oiled
3. Crystal cleaned and scratches removed
4. Dial and hands untouched and in their original condition
5. Moving parts and jewels have been re-oiled with Swiss Moebius oils
6. New leather strap
Known defects:
As with all vintage watches, there will be signs of genuine wear and use. These really enhance the beauty of these watches as they are evidence of a history. Every blemish, every scratch is a nod to its past.
On this watch, we have noticed that the case has some of its plating worn off exposing the brass underneath. The dial, although in really good condition for its age will have some very minor marks and the hands will likewise have signs of age.
